Before the new console releases (or for those who will be sticking with the PS3 for now) the PS app will allow you to chat with your friend list and browse player profiles, trophies and the PS Store. The PlayStation App brings an extended feature set for the PS4 starting Friday when the new console launches, including a screen-based keyboard, second screen like functionality for certain games like Microsoft’s Smart Glass and the ability to download digital PSN content directly to the the PS4.
